There was a moment this week where I felt myself reaching the edge……

Not the dramatic kind of edge. Not a breakdown, not panic, not anything that would look alarming from the outside.

Just a quiet, tired ache that told me I was pushing myself too hard again.

You know that feeling? Where your mind keeps whispering “keep going…keep going…” But your body is whispering ” please stop”.

Well….I heard both. And for once, I didn’t choose the pressure.

I sat down. Right on the edge of my bed, fully closed, still holding my phone. Mid task. Mid day.

And I just stopped.

No productivity hacks. No “five more minutes”. No guilt dragging me forward.

I simply……rested.

It wasn’t even a long rest. It wasn’t dramatic or movie worthy. But it was one of the healthiest choices I’ve made recently.

Because resting before you crash IS healing.

Because choosing your well being over the imaginary expectations in your head IS healing.

Because listening to your body instead of overriding it IS healing.

Rest isn’t a reward. It isn’t a gold star you earn after suffering enough.

Resting is a need. A right. A basic part of being human.

Anxiety made me think that I had to keep going until I shattered. That stillness meant weakness and failing. That rest meant falling behind.

But this week, I did something I didn’t think I was allowed to do:

I stopped when I needed to. No guilt, no shame, just honesty.

And in that quiet, tiny moment, I realized something:

MAYBE HEALING ISN’T LEARNING HOW TO PUSH YOURSELF HARDER. MAYBE HEALING IS LEARNING HOW TO STOP.

💛 If you’re giving yourself permission to rest lately too….I’m so proud of you!
