Anxiety has a way of pulling our minds toward the worst possible outcome… even when nothing is actually wrong.
You notice a small feeling in your body → suddenly you fear something serious.
Someone doesn’t reply right away → suddenly you think you upset them.
A small change in routine → suddenly everything feels out of control.
This isn’t you “being negative.”
It’s your brain trying to protect you by imagining every danger — even the ones that aren’t real.

Why your anxious mind does this
When you’ve lived with anxiety long enough, your brain becomes hypersensitive to possible threats.
It doesn’t want you to get blindsided, so it sends out alerts… even when nothing dangerous is happening.
It’s not failure — it’s a survival system stuck on “high alert.”
And you can retrain it.
But here’s what helps me interrupt that spiral:
✨ Ask yourself:
“Do I have evidence… or is this anxiety talking?”
✨ Ground into the present:
Look around and name 5 things you see.
✨ Use one gentle sentence:
“I am safe right now.”
✨ Try this mini-reset right now:
Put one hand on your chest.
Inhale for 4.
Hold for 2.
Exhale for 6.
Let your body remind your brain:
“This moment is not a threat.”
