For me, my mom has been one of the biggest influences in my life….especially through some of my hardest years with anxiety.
I watched her manage her own anxieties while facing the unknowns of cancer and ongoing treatments. Even when she was scared, exhausted, or overwhelmed, she stayed focused, grounded, and strong in ways that left a lasting impression on me. She showed me that courage isn’t the absence of fear… it’s choosing to keep going while carrying it.
She showed up in quiet ways. She listened without trying to fix everything. She stayed steady when I felt anything but. Through everything she faced herself, she still made space to care, to reassure, and to remind me that it was okay to take things one day at a time.
Living with anxiety for so many years has shaped who I am, but watching her move through uncertainty with grace taught me what real strength looks like. It’s something I carry with me…. and something I try to pass on to others.
