What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

For me, the greatest gift someone could give isn’t something you can buy or wrap. It’s safety.

I’ve lived with anxiety for a long time, and there were years when my nervous system was constantly on edge. During that time, the people who helped me most weren’t the ones who had all the right words — they were the ones who stayed. The ones who listened without trying to fix me. The ones who didn’t rush my healing or tell me to “just relax.”

I remember moments where someone simply sat with me while I was overwhelmed, letting the silence be enough. No pressure. No judgment. Just presence. And in those moments, my body finally felt like it could exhale.

Patience, understanding, and consistency may seem small, but they can change everything for someone who is struggling. They remind you that you’re not too much, and that you don’t have to face hard days alone.

If I’ve learned anything, it’s this: sometimes the greatest gift is being a calm place for someone else — and allowing yourself to receive that same kindness when you need it. 🌿
