If I could make my pet understand one thing, it would be this:
When I leave for work, I’m not leaving you behind.
I’m not disappearing.
And nothing bad is about to happen.
I know the quiet feels different when the door closes. I know waiting can feel heavy and uncertain. But every time I walk out, there’s a promise attached to it — I will come back.
Sometimes I wish you knew how much I think about you while I’m gone. How coming home to you is one of the things that gets me through the day. How you are never forgotten, even when I’m not physically there.
And maybe that’s something I need to remind myself of too.
That anxious feeling that whispers what if…
That fear that something has changed or gone wrong…
It isn’t the truth.
Just like you, I’m safe. Just like you, I’m loved.
And just like always — this moment will pass.
I’ll be back.
I always am. 🐾💚

I’ve had many cats through the years and most of them eventually realized that I’m not leaving for good, but I had “Sushi,” a Siamese for 13 years and she was always upset when I left…
My dogs are such babies. I have an 11 year old Great Dane and a 5 year old daniff and they both think the world is ending every time I go anywhere lol
Oh my! I could see a positive on your end though, it must feel kinda good to know that even from the ‘animal world’ you are missed!
lol it absolutely does. My husband gets “offended” 🤣 they don’t do that to him haha
lol! If they did he might change his tune!
Lmao that’s exactly what I tell him too?! If you came to my house when I came home from wherever I was you’d think I was gone for a month not 5 minutes 🤣 I always say yep see I’m a loveable gal haha
Nice! Love comes in many different disguises!
