Racing thoughts are one of the hardest parts of anxiety. It feels like your brain is stuck in fast forward mode, jumping from one worry to the next before you can breathe.

The good news? You can slow those thoughts down, even in just a few minutes. Here are three simple techniques that have helped me the most.

  • The “Name And Reassure” Techniques

Say to yourself: “This is anxiety. I’ve felt this before, and I can handle it.” Naming what’s happening reminds your brain that you’re in control.

  • The “Breath And Anchor” Method

Focus on your breathing and a physical sensation – like your feet on the floor or your hand on your chest. This anchors you in the present moment.

  • The “Mind Dump”

Grab a notebook or your phone and write every thought down, no matter how messy. When your thoughts live on paper, they stop circling your mind.

Daily affirmation:

“My thoughts don’t control me – I can slow them, soothe them and let them pass.”
