There was a day early in my journey when I had a setback so big it felt like I was starting from zero.

I remember crying on my bedroom floor thinking:

“How am I still struggling? Why am I not better yet?”

Back then, I thought healing was supposed to be this smooth, steady climb.

I thought once I learned tools, things would stay calm.

I thought setbacks meant failure.

But they don’t.

🌿

Healing looks like progress, pause, setback, progress again.

It looks like:

  • good days
  • hard days
  • unexpected wins
  • unexpected setbacks

Healing is not about never slipping — it’s about getting back up differently.

🌿

Your setbacks don’t erase your growth

You didn’t lose everything you built.

You didn’t go back to the beginning.

You’re not broken again.

You’re learning.

You’re rewiring.

You’re practicing.

You’re human.

And humans don’t heal in perfect angles — we heal in spirals.

🌿

If today is a hard day, give yourself grace.

One tough moment doesn’t define your journey.

You are healing even when it doesn’t look like it.

You are growing even when you feel stuck.

You are moving forward even when it feels slow.

You’re doing better than you think.

  1. Good read! I feel most of us can “help to heal” better by first knowing who we are and trying to figure out “why” we do and feel certain things. However, some may disagree, but we are all different so sometimes we need to figure out “our differences” before just going with something that worked for others. I’m not saying don’t try what works for others, but don’t “continue on that path if it doesn’t work for us!” Thanks for posting!

    1. Exactly! Everyone is different, what works for me may not work for you but honestly what’s wrong with giving it a shot. If it doesn’t help then carry on to the next and try something else
